|
|
Upgraded TV yesterday to widescreen TV. Since I live in Canada, there isnt a lot of video content I can purchase from iTunes. So I purchased all of the Pixar short films to be a "demo" when my friends come over.
So when I synced then over, only 4 of the 8 available woud play back on the on the Apple TV. I got for the others I got the dissapointing "Apple TV does not support this video format". ARGH. So I plugged in my iPod to make sure the video files werent corrupted. To my horror, they all played nicely on my iPod. WTH?
And to add insult to injury, none of my video purchased videos playback on the unit either. If anyone knows of a work around I would be greatly appreciated.

You told us that they dont play because the file type isnt supported, so this would change it to a type that is supported |

That wouldn't work at all, since Mediafork only converts DVDs (or ripped DVDs). Also, the content that monkeyboy has is obviously purchased items from the iTunes Store, therefore they would have DRM applied on them.
As for your problem, monkeyboy, I'm not certain. Anything that the iPod can play should be compatible with the AppleTV. I'd suggest checking out the Apple Discussion Forums, and seeing if anyone else has seen this problem. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

There seems to be a bug in how videos purchased wit iTunes before version 7.1.1. are upgraded to the 7.1.1 itunes database that makes the apple TV think that its' the wrong format.
So if you delete teh video file (from the itunes db = not from the trash can!) and then add it back to iTunes it will be synced and played. |
