I wonder how many BT users have illegal software on their computers? Any guesses?
BT even prevents LEECHING. Wow, now there's a nice term....any illegal downloaders know what THAT's all about? I bet they do.
Its all smoke and mirrors.
Pull your heads out of the sand guys. Tell me its not used for warez and software piracy.....go ahead.
Done with this thread. Some of you are so naive, it hurts my head... |
Okay, this'll probably be my last post on this subject because I keep repeating myself. BT is an innocent download tool. I'm sure that many BT people download illegal things, but that's besides the point. There're still a ton of legit uses for BT, which is what Blizzard uses it for.
Leeching is just when someone is downloading from a torrent but not uploading, effectively "stealing" from the network. This is prevented because if a lot of people leech, then there is no one to seed, or upload, the files to the other people.
I don't understand what the argument is still about. BT can be used illegally. BT can also be used legally.
And in closing...

P.S. I have been using computers for probably about a decade and I just turned twenty; have fun with that fact if you feel it helps. _________________ Computer Engineer

I've been using computers for about 25 years. I was a SYSOP for a Commodore 64 BBS, back in the day. I had legal file sharing on my board.
Bittorrent is only as good or as bad as the person using it.
If I recall correctly Jobs spoke of the positive aspects of file sharing in a recent keynote. |
