A can of Brasso and a lint-free cotton pad.

hey TyPod...is that good for overall polishing up your iPod? I've been looking to regularly give it a good wipedown to keep it lookin good. Personally, I take my iPod safety to a paranoid level...no scratches on the front at all (Though smudges on the lower end from use and scratches on the back...screen is always relatively clean)....

Dont let it get in the clickwheel or the hold button and headphone port. Other than that should be all good.

To tell you the truth, Brasso has saved my iPod from looking beat up. I use Brasso all around the click-wheel, and by the headphone port with no problems at all. Though you should try to avoid it, I haven't encountered any problems polishing the iPod with Brasso in those areas.

If you decide to use Brasso on your click-wheel, it does make your click wheel shiney and smooth feeling. Though this sounds good, it makes a whole different texture than what you're use to.

As far as the back, it's been quite hard for me to get all the scratches out from the back. My main focus is on the front, since the back of an iPod will get scratched no matter what.

I searched google for how to remove scratches from an iPod, and I found Brasso was the cheapest, and most affective way of accomplishing this task. If anyone is looking for an affordable, quick, and simple way to remove scratches from their iPod, a little can of Brasso will definately do the trick.

I got my information here. This should show some pictures of what kind of Brasso to use (I think there is only one kind), and the procedure you should go through.

Good luck and I hope your Brasso experiment turns out the way mine did!

2. then i took the piece of cotton and cleaned it...
3. then i took one lint free cloth and cleaned the ipod with it...
4.. nothing happened... maybe the scratches are too bad..SadSad

Can't be. I had scratches so deep I could feel them with my finger nail. Brasso even smoothed and cleared out those scratches, so i'm sure you're not using enough Brasso or are not cleaning it long enough.

Try it again with a different method.

How long did you apply Brasso to the iPod? This is the most important part of the whole process.

I had the same kind of scratches like you, so it should work.
