At first glance, I thought the gap between the two was a second optical drive. What a smart design for cooling and stacking. I even think the embossed logo looks cool. Is it made out of metal or plastic?

I put some high-resolution pictures of the LaCie mini in the gallery.

Thanks for posting the pictures!

I'm a little disappointed with the power switch's design and location after looking at the pictures. The switch looks small and could be hard to access being under the ports from the Mac mini stacked above.

Thank you very much for your comments about our new product Smile

Just wanted to confirm that the power switch is different from what you can see on the picture. It is actually a nice looking push button (same style than Mac Mini push button). We will update our web site as soon as possible.

Now if they could only do something with that logo.
Just kidding. I personally really like the logo. It has class.

I'll try to avoid the self promotion Smile

A combination of HD+Hub is the first thing everybody thought about. It is definitely a good idea. We felt that a lot of companies would go for it.

We took some time to focus on differentiating our product as much as possible (design) while delivering an aggressive price point (compatible with price of Mac Mini itself). At $199 for 250GB we think that we achieved that goal.

I don't know the specs of the MiniStack. It is good to see that customers have a large choice of options for their Mac Mini. It is a great looking computer so the more options for it, the better.

This is good to hear. What was your role in the development of this product? When will the LaCie mini be available in Apple's retail stores?

That would be a long story Smile

Since you are in Oregon, you can contact us if one day you want to get a tour of the factory in Hillsboro.

Products should be available in Apple's stores by the end of the month. There is a new Apple Store opening in Portland (downtown) on July 16th so it is a good timing.

I know where you guys are. Why do you think I'm such a big LaCie supporter? I'm in Beaverton...think shoes! I work for them.

Cool! We had a couple people visiting your company 2 weeks ago for a little technology demo.

Thank you again for your support. That's really great!

I'm not in IT. I help design Point of Purchase displays and do artwork.
