Is there a way to enter birth dates and aniversries on iCal? I saw that there is a way to to birthdays in the address book, bit it gives you only one (not so great for couples w/kids) and no room for aniversries.

iCal 2.0 should automatically add the birthdays in your address book to the calendar.

You can add as many events to iCal as you like, whether they repeat or not, that's what it's for.

In short:

Open iCal
Select the calendar you want to add the event to at top left *
Create a new event on the appropriate day this year (right click or Apple-N)
Name it appropriately
Check 'all-day'
Click on the 'repeat' popup under the date and select 'every year'

* You can't add events to the automatic 'Birthdays' calendar. You can use the big '+' at bottom left of window to create a new calendar you can add to as needed.

The only annoyance is that iCal doesn't seem to support showing you how many years have elapsed since the initial event (how old someone is!), but that's also true of the birthday's pulled in from Address Book.

This is probably a stupid question, but how can I get the correct date to show up all the time in iCal. It always show the 17th until I open it.

Simple to fix; just choose a link!

Basically iCal just needs to be run to reset the date. Both of the apps are just quick ways to do that during the Mac's startup script. The first is a little more hands on, but is quick and dirty. The second link is an application that you add to your startup items and BAM! there you go. Both do the exact same thing. Hopefully Apple will fix this horribly stupid problem.
