|
|
I was curious if anyone has the above setup, or could comment on the ability for a mini to drive a 23" cinema display at full resolution. I recall reading elsewhere that the mini was "strained" running a 20" at full res.
I'm mostly looking at this for the den as a setup to surf, play iTunes, iLife, and watch DVDs.

From Apple
"DVI video output for digital resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 pixels; supports 20-inch Apple Cinema display and 23-inch Apple Cinema HD display; supports coherent digital displays up to 154MHz; supports non-coherent digital displays up to 135MHz"
I have a 20 inch Cinema display hooked up to a 1.25 mini. No problems here at all! I cannot comment on the 23 for I have not seen it in person. Do you already have the 23 inch Cinema and want to buy the mini or is it the other way around? |

Actually, I have neither right now -- I'm just tyring to spec things out before I pull thre trigger and order.
... yes, yes, I *know* there are cheaper displays out there ... but the Cinema Displays just look so darn good . And I'm justifying it by saying it should out-live the mini somewhat ... |

I have the 20 and bought it before the price cuts! I know people will tell you there are cheaper displays but they really look good but have a fantastic picture. Go to an Apple Store if you have not seen one in person. |

| I've played with one hooked to a 23" at the apple store. Expose was a bit choppy, but other than that, it looked fine. It was much choppier than on a 20". When in doubt, test it out first. |
