I've been considering this drive as a prospective upgrade down the line and I would just like to see if anyone else has had good experience w/ it and the vendor
does iDVD/toast recognize the drive?
thanks _________________ Computational Media Major Student @ Georgia Tech

I do not have one, but I have been considering one. However, be aware that the DVR-K04 is the 2004 model and is discontinued. I have seen a DVR-K05 model out that has slightly faster DL performance. I'm thinking I'll eventually give the 05 a try.

Did you install the drive yourself or did you use their upgrade service? |

I wouldn't say it's harder; it's just more work.
OWC has videos that walk you through installation here. They're quicktime and links are at the bottom of the page. _________________ Computer Engineer

Let us know how the drive works out for you when you get it. I just put the Bluetooth / Airport upgrade in my Mini today. That upgrade is gong to have to be the last one for quite a while. My wife says that I must pay off the PowerMac G5 that I purchased, before I can get any more new toys. So, no new DVD drive for me until at least October. _________________ Mac Pro Quad 2.66GHz, PowerMac G5 2.3 GHz, iMac Core Duo 17", MacBook Pro 2GHz, MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, Mac mini Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz. How'd the upgrade for the Airport/Bluetooth kit go and where'd you buy it from? I'm going to buy and install one but it'd be nice to know what I'm getting into before hand. _________________ Computer Engineer
