How much did all of your upgrades set you back? I think I just saw a 1gb RAM upgrade and possibly a 7K60 drive? _________________ Computer Engineer

Well, I initially purchased the travelstar 5k80 last year to replace the 40gig drive my Dell Inspiron 300m has, but I never mustered up the courage to open up the laptop and it ended up living in an external enclosure, so I just took that out...
and the 1gig ddr400 was about 102 on newegg
the mini was 668 (723 shipped) including my education discount
and my logitech mx3100 duo was 113 if you can call that an upgrade...
and I already had my nice samsung 172x lcd _________________ Computational Media Major Student @ Georgia Tech

Sounds like a pretty good deal allaround. Your mini sure beats my stock one...I say that all Mini upgrades should now be free so I can catchup to your setup, . _________________ Computer Engineer

Frankly I don't know if there will be a second revision for the Mini. Analysts are downgrading their estimates of Mini sales. Sad to say it but this might be the next Cube.
I just need to buy the upgrades before there's no market anymore and manufactorers stop developing products for the Mini. _________________ Computer Engineer

except that I doubt you can make a Miniquarium, or at least one that fish can live in for more than a week _________________ Computational Media Major Student @ Georgia Tech

| He is talking about the clear plastic enclosure of the Cube. Some people used it as aquariums after their Cubes died. |

I'll use my mini case for this.

I noticed your Kensington wireless keyboard. I have one and like it a lot. But I was never able to get the wireless mouse that came with it to work. How does yours work? _________________ <This space intentionally left blank> |

I love the idea of buying a mini but with a prediction like this I get worried. You really think the mini will end up being discontinued or just neglected until the mactel version comes out next year?
I just sold my PB on eBay and am currently using my *spare* pc which is a home grown P4 1.6 . I miss my mac though and I'm suffering withdraw. Ill buy one soon, but *when* is the ineluctable question. |
