Good evening.
I my Mac mini set up as my main computer and put my Windows PC over to the side and have made it my print server basically...
I have a Konica Minolta 1350W connected to it. All my other Windows PCs (laptop and daughters machine) can print to it fine. I've tried to set up this printer on my mini so i can print to it. I've gone through the instructions in the Tiger manual and have "seen the printer and actually thought I set it up. However, I can't print to it. I get no errors nothing. The printer shows up in the dock when I say to print, then goes away. It shows the job as being completed in the printer setup utility for the printer, but nothing comes out. I cannot find a Mac driver on the Konica Minolta webiste for this printer so I don't know if this could be the problem or not.
Any help from the experts would be appreicated.
Thanks. |

I had similar issues with a Samsung laser printer and found a solution on linuxprinting.org.
If an official driver for OS X doesn't turn up anytime soon the instructions on the following page should work, though there's some command-line fiddling to do:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/pipermail/minolta-list/2005q2/000430.html
The driver seemed to compile fine in Tiger with the standard developer tools (no extra autoconf/automake nonsense mentioned on the page), though I don't have the printer to test anything with.
Good luck,
Adam. |
