Tuesday, January 9, 2007
Posted by: Charles
Apple has posted a video of the keynote speech given by CEO Steve Jobs at Macworld 2007. "Watch Apple CEO Steve Jobs kick-off Macworld Conference & Expo 2007 with a keynote address from San Francisco's Moscone West. See the video-on-demand (VOD) event right here exclusively in QuickTime and MPEG-4, " notes the company. The video shows the introduction of the iPhone and Apple TV.

Whatever happened to iLife 07 and iWork 07?
Or new MacPro's?
I was hoping for a bump in MacBook Pros but they just got one not long ago.
Still I am not complaining, when the iPhone will hit the European market in December or January 2008, I will buy one for sure.
But I cannot help thinking that all I got now was the AppleTV with a lame 40GB hd, and the AirPort Extreme, which they didn't even bother to mention...
Worst of all, I was hoping to hear something about MacOS X 10.5!!!!!
Buuuut, no demos or updates...
When is the next expo? _________________ "For I dipped into the future, far as human eye could see;

Some are saying (guessing) there will be a special event in February or March. After that, you're talking about the WWDC. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I'm sure they will come out with some other event. After all the plain iPod needs to become full 6G, this iPhone is more than an 6G iPod and not everyone is going to want the all-in-one expensive device.
Plus Steve said there will be some things to come in the next few months with Macs.
With the Apple TV, I'm sure there will be a way you can crack that baby open and slap a 160GB drive in it.
I've actually watched the even twice. And I caught myself drooling the first time I seen the iPhone in action. The thing is almost perfect. _________________

Cheers to Steve Jobs...
How many other CEO's are so confident in their products that they get up in front of the world and personally introduce them. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

Yes, I am still drooling.. My t-shirt is all wet from it.. And I only saw the expo ONCE!
I love the iPhone and I want it NOW!!!! Too bad I live in Europe... But hey, at least when it arrives here, I hope they'll have the first firmware updates and bugs sorted out if there are any... Cause as you say, it looks damn near perfect.
As for AppleTV, yes, I am going to buy one and hope to crack it to have a 160GB HD in it too. Although does it support DiVX? and AVI?
Now all I need is that all important update to the MacBook Pro...
PS. ANY UK Users here? I wish to ask a few questions about the Internet in the UK. Thanks... Also IS the SkyTV Box HD? _________________ "For I dipped into the future, far as human eye could see;

Was anyone able to make out phone numbers or email addresses from the keynote? That would be real funny if those were the actual phone numbers of people. _________________

I thought it was funny when he called Starbucks. It made me think of those old stories about him and Woz messing around with phones. |

If you call the number listed for "Steve's iPhone" it's just Apple support. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

Yep, they all lead you to apple support... I tried it during the expo... So I was wondering how they pulled that off... You know different numbers yet they all ended up to the apple store... Perhaps they just bought them or rented them.
However, I have Phils real cell number and the number directly to Steve. But I have been too much of a chicken to call either one of them. Besides, I think I'd get into trouble if I did.
Posting them would generate a whole new problem in my life I don't think would be good to have now...
I know a guy who was hired by Apple, and he is my friend... and his mobile phone is "also my friend"
But besides, that...
Does anyone know if the new AppleTV, even supports DIVX and AVI? I mean it has serious hardware to support it, yet I don't see any specifics other than the iTunes related H264 formats. _________________ "For I dipped into the future, far as human eye could see;

You should of called him and asked him for Bill's (Gates) number. I wonder if that would piss him off? _________________

| I don't know if it's available for all countries, but you can download the Keynote as a podcast directly on the iTunes store. It's on the USA and Canada store AFAIK. |
