Noob wants to know---Uninstall Programs?

Excuse me, but I'm a new users, and I am wondering what the procedure is for uninstalling a program?

In the "other" OS, there was an Add/Remove Program icon in the control panel?

Do I just drag the app to the trash?

Or will that leave remnants everywhere?

The uninstallation depends on the app. Normally you can just drag the application to the trash. Sometimes if you run the installer program again, it has an uninstall option. For things like MySQL, uninstallation is more complicated and concerns deleting the receipt for the program as well any of the obvious program files.

I'd say that in a good percentage of cases you can just drag the apps to the trash.

Just drag it to the trash > empty trash when you're 100% sure you don't need it.
