Thanks DCGuy. I found this product at a local electronics store. I reckon I'll give it a bash.
Also, in my travels I came across this link at apple. http://www.apple.com/au/support/ipod/service/battery/. It appears as though one can receive a "replacement iPod" for $110. Either they're being clever with their wording, I'm thick, or they're offering a pretty good deal.
