What sounds good to one person may not appeal to someone else. The Extreme Isolation headphones I posted a picture of earlier would sound terrible/flat to most people. Does that make them crappy? No, they are for studio use, the sound is supposed to be natural with no coloration. I don't like them for regular music playback myself. However they have their application.
You did a good job of describing the Bose sound in your earlier post. |

| Believe me I don't think Bose is the "God" of music quality. I have never heard the sound from them before and was wondering if anybody had a pair. |

No one thinks Bose is God  Most think that it is either Saint Bose or Satan....
I would try before you buy - some love "Bose Sound" and some hate it - but one thing about Bose is that it is different that other headphones/systems.

They sound OK. You will see their provided displays are limited with the selection of music. That is one of the things Bose gets called out for, locking its demos to music they choose. As you listen to a demo of their headphones you will notice some of their music won't be very complicated. They also lack in the bass end and definition. If they provided music with more bass or allowed me to demo with MY music. I might give them a slight look.
Plus the TriPort's headband seems too flimsy for my use.

Yea, a lot of people had trouble with the TriPort headband (you have probably read reviews), but Bose rectified it and put in a metal band rather than the cheap plastic ones before, so that is good.
I don't know what Bose store you have been to, however, because my Bose store's employees are like, "Do you have your iPod with you?" - because everyone has an iPod, right?

There is only one Bose store around Minneapolis. That only one is at the Mall of America. Otherwise all my encounters with Bose are at your box retailers.

Yup - they are pretty hard to come by unless you are in a really populated area with lot's of money
It is nice seeing all the Bose stuff in one place - and they let you do some extensive testing on them too.

Some earbuds come with adjustable sizes. If you are in the market for child earbuds, be ready to get Barbie colored headphones  |

there's a Bose store in downtown Vancouver
i hate going in there, feels like driving into a Mercedes Dealership with your '88 Civic
i'm looking for a good set of 'phones too
might give those collapsable senheissers a try, i like the design and have been hearing great things about them, i just need to find $60 |

IMO, Sennheiser are just as good a product as Bose without the price tag. I have a pair of these for home:
and these for uni/public use.

I totally agree. I'm still using the Sennheiser PX100's that I mentioned earlier. You would be hard pressed to find a better set of headphones for under $50. They sound excellent.
