These look pretty darn nice in silver, but it looks like WD is charging a $30 dollar coloring tax for Mac users. Unless I'm missing something, the MyBook Home model appears to have the same specs and features for less money. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Only difference I can see is FW 800 and pre-formatted. Also as mentioned the color. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I want to get a single drive 1TB external and I would get either this or a Lacie, but the Lacie costs $550 and only has a FW 400 port added, but I'll be using this with an iMac, so for $150 less I'll gladly pay up in comparison. Also, does WD even have any other single drive 1TB externals? _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

Wow, I totally missed that one.
That's probably worth a couple a bucks. Although I would be going the backwards compatibility route to FW 400 anyways. By the way, I looked around the product page a little more and it also appears that you get two more years on the warranty. So I guess it's a pretty fair deal when you compare it to the other model. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
