I'm right with you.
iWork is a lot easier to use, and loads faster. So I only use MS Office if iWork can't read a document correctly. _________________ The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.

I'm using MS Office but i'm planning to move to iWork, just testing it out, if i like it i'll move over. iWork looks much better and adds way higher value to your work compared to anything done on MS Office. _________________ - MacBook Pro, 15inch, 2.4GHz, 2GB, 160GB HDD, SuperDrive. I'm playing with MS Office and iWorks at the moment.
Both trial versions, not done much with them yet, and still mkaing my mind up on which one to purchase, NeoOffice might get a try as well before I make up my mind. _________________ Phil

| I just switched back to iWork from Office for the second time. I think it will be for good this time around with iWork '08. I didn't see anything that blew me away in the Office '08 preview. |

Quite honestly...about the only time I even USE an office suite is when I open up a file someone else has sent me or when I tweak my resume. So, my requirements are fairly minimal. _________________ -=iMav=-

I don't spend a ton of time in one either. Maybe 2 hours a week tops. I just need it for formal letters, resume updates and a few cash flow and investment spreadsheets. That being said, I really appreciate the speed and responsiveness of iWork along with its clean interface. |

I'm a bit different. I use WriteRoom to do my raw writing, then I use InDesign to format documents. Sometimes I use Word, especially if I'm going to be sharing the document with others who need to edit it, but generally I just print or output a PDF from InDesign.
When I need a spreadsheet, I turn to Numbers, though I used Excel in the past. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

Well I checked WriteRoom out..... and I'm in love. In my 1990s haste to dump command lines for GUIs, I forgot how much work I used to get done on an MS-DOS screen. Now, if I can just find an outliner that looks like WriteRoom... _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

I'm hooked on iWork '08 (especially loving Numbers). As a student, I have to deal with a fair bit of office suite work and I love using iWork for it.
I haven't had much chance to use Keynote yet, though (and I guess there are compatibility issues between it and PowerPoint – more so than Pages). _________________ Visit www.TheBigApples.net for Apple news and podcasts. |
