I've been waiting for this to come out for soooooooooooo long. GB just isn't cutting it for me anymore, so I can't wait to get my strings on it. Some of the new features looks awesome. I just hope my M-Audio stuff plays nice with it. _________________ 1.66GHz, 1.83GHz and 2.0GHz Mac minis

Logic 8 is only part of Logic Studio

Rick ,
Logic 8 is so MUCH more than Garageband I'm sure you'll be happy. One of the best things is they've made the learning curve less steep which was one of the big problems many folks had with it( and I mean pro's!!)
It looks like they've addressed a lot of bugs too but ...nothings perfect.
The down side is historically M -Audio doesn't play well with a lot of things ...I don't know which interface you have but if you don't need more than 2 inputs Apogee's Duet is a pro quality converter that was just released for $495....this is about as unheard of as a pro app packed as Logic Studio (which was $1000 just for Logic Pro 7!!).
If you have the budget Logic 8 Express for $200 and the Duet is a solid system. The Duet is top notch and was made to intergrate into Logic.(no seperate software mixer!!
Anyways I'm stoked !!this is a great year for very affordable great products for audio recording.Have fun!!!
