I think those new little SanDisk Sansa Clips look pretty cool. I might buy one for working out and stuff. They cost less than the shuffle and have a screen, FM tuner and voice recorder. They only do MP3 and WMA though. The 2GB player sells for $60 and the 1GB for $40. Dare I say a shuffle killer.

| If it works good on a Mac, I wouldn't mind getting one either. |

You'll probably be able to drag and drop files onto the player or use XNJB.

| ZNJB looks like a nice application for players other than the iPod. Seems like it would do the trick. |

That screen is awfully small - it looks like something out of Zoolander.
I would fear that it would get lost or eaten very easily!

I'm not that hungry.
The screen is small, but the text looks big enough to be readable. |

I would assume it scrolls. Having a small display the tradeoff for having a small device. You should be able to find the song/album/artist you are searching by only viewing the first few letters of each. It looks like that display has room for around 16 characters across (without side scrolling). Seems good enough to me. |

I'm not so much worried about the screen as the size of the buttons. Compared to the car key, they're tiny! I doubt you'd be able to operate it if you happened to have Homer Simpson-style sausage fingers. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

Sausage fingers aside ...
This style of control wheel is pretty forgiving.
If you look at the unlock button on the keychain... that button is about equal in size to what you could get away with in pressing the directional buttons on the MP3 player.
I personally think I could use this device and I have big fingers, but to each their own. |

If my 2GB nano dies I would probably look at this. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I have a few of those sausage fingers, but it looks doable. Here are some more picutres from Engadget.

I'm sorry, but those pictures just underline my point. Sausage fingers or not, you need the hands of a 5 year old to operate those buttons. Maybe that's the target market? _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

Wow, SanDisk is back with another cool looking player. It's called the Sansa View.
Specs:
Plays videos, music, photos, radio, and audio books
2.4" screen
Video compatibility with MPEG4, WMV, H.264
Built-in FM radio
Built in microphone for recording
Expandable MicroSD/SDHC card slot for additional storage
16GB for $199
8GB for $149
I might be turning into an underground SanDisk fanboy (if there is such a thing) with those sweet specs. Maybe one of these will do me until the iPhone gets a memory bump. |
