I want to transfer some VHC-C video and audio from my camcorder to the Mac Mini for use in the Mac's iDVD software. Any suggestions for something that will hook into the Firewire/USB port that has some decent software for the mac? I would like the maximum resolution possible (640X480 or higher) and would like to stay well under $100.00.

Any suggestions?

I don't know of a good one for under $100. Look at the Pinnacle Studio MovieBox DV if you can spend a little more money. It will do everything you want over Firewire. You can get it for around $180.

The EyeTV 200 seems to be the standard when watching TV or digitizing media on the Mac. Well, at least for the consumer/prosumer portion of the population. It costs $299, but they have a refurbished one online for $199. They also make a USB2.0 version called EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0, which is basically a rebranched ATI VIVO-type device. That costs $99 refurbished. I think that'd be your cheapest and best bet, though if you could afford it, the EyeTV200 is really good. It matches the Mini too.

Disclaimer: I have not used any of the above devices.
