Hi, i've been reading the forum for the past few days, especially the posts on ram upgrades. Reading through I've noticed that some people have reported problems with the kingston, as well as the PQI (that name could be way off). At the same time i've read about people having a great experience with both of those brands. Not sure if it matters, but i've got the 1.25 gtz mini now with 512 MB of Apple's ram. I'd like to know everyone's thoughts on which is the best ram for your buck. _________________ 1.25 Ghtz MacMini

Mine is Kingston, and I've never had even the slightest hiccup.
Cost me $89 after a $30 rebate at Best Buy. |

Is yours Kingston ValueRam? I found a good deal on that at a store locally. _________________ 1.25 Ghtz MacMini

| I'd vote for Crucial even though their prices are expensive. Their 1GB sticks cost between $100-$120. |

Is that what you are using? Crucial was actually what i was leaning towards originally, but i'd like to know that you have been using it for some time without problems etc. before i make my purchase. _________________ 1.25 Ghtz MacMini

| I have a Crucial 1GB stick. I was going to buy the PQI stick, but changed my mind at the last minute. I've had Crucial sticks in a few of my systems over the years, and never had a failure or problem. The best thing about Crucial is you know they will be here in 5-10 years because Micron is a huge company. That's not to say the PQI stick is bad. A lot of people here are using them. |

I don't generally trust companies i've never heard of. Plus, again, i'd much rather have someone tell me that they're using that stick without problems.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm still open to other options though if anyone else has feedback _________________ 1.25 Ghtz MacMini

OK because I've always been a bit indecisive when it comes to buying computer parts, I put up a poll to hopefully seal the deal for me. Please vote and post your comments if you havent already. _________________ 1.25 Ghtz MacMini

In my family's PC (which is from 99'), we have a 256mb stick from crucial memory, it was 128 originally but we changed it maybe 2 years ago. And it seems to work well, I don't know about their 1gb's but everyone seems to like them, i say go crucial. _________________ Gone. |

PQI, Mushkin, Kingston, and Crucial are all good names. I wouldn't waste a lot of time thinking about it because Memory prices are about to go up. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

argh. i was afraid you'd say that memory prices are about to go up... just wondering, what makes you say that? the fact that the longhorn beta is being released on the 3rd? _________________ 1.25 Ghtz MacMini
