| Other than the lack of a upgrade to the 'N' standard for wireless ethernet, I think it was a good update. It was long overdue though. |

I wanted N, the GPU I can understand when it would make it better than the one in the MacBook. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

| It was okay, could have been better. I think the people here predicted it a ways back. |

Let me just say this. I should have waited a few weeks to buy. |

I voted BAD.
I knew Apple wasn't going to redesign the mini, but hey no "n" card?
That is an easy upgrade on the assembly line. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I think you gotta consider this a "refresh" and not a true upgrade. This exact same upgrade has been available to any Intel mini owner since the core2duo's came out.
However, I did vote "ok". This was the bare minimum needed to keep the mini line alive...and I excepted nothing else from Apple. _________________ -=iMav=-

I use ethernet, so having or not having 802.11n doesn't matter to me. I don't have an 802.11n router anyways. I'm just upset about missing out on the Core 2 Duo, iLife 08 and the other standard bumps. I really would've liked having a Core 2 Duo going into Leopard for 64-bit support. |

i'm glad i got a macbook pro after they were updated (was originally gonna get a mac mini, but the MBP seemed like the best value to me, i know it sounds crazy but hey)
if i had waited for the mini update i would've been really disappointed.
the iMac update is pretty cool though, i love the new wireless keyboards, especially with the video controls on it (play/pause, rewind etc) and the small size makes it ideal for htpc.
in fact i just looked at the specs again for the 2.0GHz model mini, it is pretty good now that i think about it a bit more, and back to what it was before, i've just been spoiled by the macbook pro shame about the n though, still good to see it's still alive even though it's off my shopping list now. |

I'm pleased that Apple upgraded it (or refreshed it in iMav's words). I would say they did the bare minimum but to be fair, Apple was constrained by the MacBook specs on one side and the iMac's on the other. Ideally, I would have liked a redesigned mini that could accommodate a 3.5" drive and contained an independent GPU. But I will be buying this one; just have to decide whether to wait for Leopard or not. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

Well, it was good enough for me. I'm buying the 1.83GHz model next paycheck. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

The upgrade is good, however, I'm not rushing out to buy another mini. The Core Duo model which I bought in January '07 is more than adequate for my needs. |
