Thursday, July 26, 2007
Posted by: Charles
Equinux today released MediaCentral 2.6.2, an updated version of their media center software for Mac OS X. According to the company, this release features a completely new TV module. Both the channel search and the TV display have been improved. PPC-based Macs (using a G4 or G5 processor) will also profit from enhanced stability and full Altivec support for the deinterlacing function. The new version also includes minor fixes to audio track selection and Czech EPG display. MediaCentral 2.6.2 is free to all MediaCentral 2.x users. For new users, the cost is $29.95.

| As long as it only supports DVB devices and no analog TV tuners it remains (for me) a useless product. |

I mostly remain a fan because of VIDEO_TS playback and organization. But I will admit that I find myself using distantDVD more and more for it. I would also like to see some UI improvements made in MediaCentral. The basic look of the application is starting to bore me a little. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Every time I see an update for MediaCentral I run to there web site to see if they have yet to add my elgato tuner or any NTSC tuner. And as alway not one single analog TV tuner.
So until such time I label MediaCentral software as lame and useless and I wish sites located in the USA would please stop reviewing this garbage until it relates to us. |

Does anyone know why the fast forward and rewind using the left and right apple remote buttons jumps about 7 minutes, instead of a few seconds??
Is there anyway to change this?? _________________ Macmini 1.83 Core Duo 2GB
