| In favor. Though, being in jail for life would have them learn their lesson. |

Anything that gets me through the line at the grocery store line faster is okay by me. In fact, I think we should take the warning labels off everything. If you're too dumb to not give your baby a plastic bag to play with, perhaps you shouldn't have children.

Under what circumstances would you change your position?
What if the defendant was 14?
Or a mother with children?
Mentally retarded?
Was seriously abused, both mentally and physically as a child?
Legally insane? |
NO IF's
You can't expect a decent answer and then go and ask the IF's so many people use the IF's to try and make people look bad, IF's are not part of the question. You asked my opinion on the death penalty and I support it, now the fact that they care about whether or not they suffer when dieing is stupid they are going to die just make it faster and make it cheaper use a concrete wall and a rifle with them turned facing the wall, see very quick and easy. People who kill must pay and whether or not they should suffer do to human rights is out of the question since they gave up their rights when they took the life of someone who wanted to live (yes I believe in mercy killing too). If we give rights to those who kill others what have we done to seek justice for the dead? _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

| I'm honestly undecided. I don't have a problem with putting someone to death for murdering another human being. It's just that our legal system seems so messed up. Plus, we still live in a fairly racist country. |

The thing which upsets me about the whole debate is the way that it inevitably reduces human life to a commodity, and I don't think any of us have a right to assign a value to another's existence.
My views are admittedly idealistic but they basically boil down to this:
Taking life is wrong, whether it's done by an individual, group or government. It's all just murder. _________________ mac mini coreduo 1.66ghz. 1.25gb 60gb HD

We don't call them executions around these parts. We have Texecutions! The term was made famous by our former idiot governor. You know, the same person that is running the entire country so well now.
I mostly agree with the sentiments splen shared. Murder is murder is murder. I'm deeply opposed to say the least. |

An eye for an eye may make the world blind, but then it makes the world wary of doing wrong, democracy favors ones life over others then the ideal that all are equal null and void since if truly one life is equal to another then payment of equal and not lesser value must be given. These ideals are of true equality for a society that cares not your rank, your crimes, your family but of your rights. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I see a future of true political freedom with a great struggle in the effort to attain such. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."
