| Has anyone heard (or care to speculate) about what the next generation iPod will look like? I would love to see a touch screen/cover flow device just like the iPhone with an 80 - 120G hard drive. It wouldn't need to have the extra apps or web browsing capabilities. Just curious. |

| My guess is it will have a bigger widescreen display like the iPhone. The current iPod seems a little out dated with the 2.5" screen, so having a bigger screen would always be good. A touch screen 6G iPod would also be nice. |

More or less the iPhone minus the phone and web. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I think Apple is going to market it as a great accessory for the car as well as a great PDA, music, and video player.
I think Apple will work with auto manufacturers in terms of integration with new car audio/entertainment systems. It will mount directly into the cars dash. The iPod will become a touch screen controller for the system or it will work stand alone device with headphones.
I think it will have a hard drive or it will certainly have much more than 8GB memory.
It's actually really tough to predict what the 6th gen iPod should be without giving it a great deal of thought. Saying iPhone less the phone is easy but there is so much to consider. Apple won't want it to have a negative impact iPhone sales. If it is too close to the iPhone people might just buy and iPod and their phone of choice. |

That is very true, and this makes me wonder how "different" Apple is going to think when creating and releasing the next iPod. I'm sure i'll be amazed, even if it doesn't look like what I'd expected. |

Give a month or 2 and I am sure someone will find away to crack open iPhone and change the internal storage and run Linux on it. _________________

I want it now!!!
Call me old fashion, but I wouldn't mind seeing a built-in FM tuner added to the list. Could we also go back to having the ability to sync with Firewire in addition to USB? |

I hear yah! I wish we still had the option of getting a FireWire iPod cable. I hear transfer speeds are much faster on syncing data to and from the iPod. |

Like with everything else, USB 2.0 is only faster than FW400 on paper. The concession was clearly made for the Windows crowd back then. |

This is why I hate the masses who would consider buying $350 Ubuntu support from Dell when the easy option is going to the Ubuntu forums where almost every question I've sought has been answered unless they are about specific apps with specific hardware even then a quick search revision and i get a pretty effective answer. Also, if you notice I think that the major companies have it out for FW since most consumer PCs that aren't made for video editing or are fully loaded lack it to save a few bucks on the mobo. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

Widescreen, larger HD, and stereo bluetooth are a must in the next revision of the ipod. I think wi-fi will come eventually as well. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I would just like it to come with a dock that matches the general color. A white dock doesn't look good with the black 5G iPod or the iPhone. Listen, I would love to own an iPhone, but it looks hideous sitting in there. Talk about a mismatch. I think the more Apple becomes a consumer electronic company, the more they should move away from white. Even the earbuds that come with the iPhone should have been black and silver. And yet they have the nerve to make the BT headset for it in black.

I think wi-fi will is a given for the 6G iPod. If for no other reason, it will be to match Microsoft with the Zune. |

I hope so. To me, that's the coolest feature about the Zune. |
