I have connected my AppleTV to a 3-2 HDMI switch from Octavia. All connected devices such as a Samsung Blu-Ray player and Humax HD-DTS receiver as well as the connected displays (Plasma and LCD projector) work very well together with Octavias hardware.
However, switching to AppleTV turned out to be difficult: even when manually switching to the appropriate HDMI input, the AppleTV remains in a state of standby. Even pushing various buttons on the Apple remote doesn't help. Occasionally the Apple symbol would appear without further progress. Only rebooting by unplugging AppleTV seems to help.

| It almost sounds like an HDMI handshake problem. Any difference with component video or is it just with HDMI? |

Have you tried running diagnostics or restoring the Apple TV to make sure there isn't something wrong with it? Does the Apple TV work when it's directly connected to the TV? _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Yes. And it also works when switching off-and-on Apple TV leaving it to the Octavio. Using the Octavio with other devices ain't a problem at all - just with AppleTV it won't work. Going to try out component somewhat in the future (need to pinch our furniture away from the wall in order to rewire those cables). |
