The two tens make nice bookends, but it will be sad to see Tiger fade into the sunset. I think it has been the best Mac operating system ever. Leopard is going to have big shoes to fill. |

I've really like Tiger also, but every Mac OS seems to get better and better to me. I'm sure Leopard will be awesome. |

| I'm seeing an unusually high amount of beachballs with Safari 3 after installing this update. It also takes like 15-20 seconds to launch now. I think I'm going to revert back to Safari 2. Anyone else having trouble like this? |

I have been having trouble with how slow my mini is in general. It's mostly when I'm running Safari, so that may be what's causing the problem.
I also think it has to do with how much free space is left on my hard drive. |

I installed the update on my PowerBook G4 and am noticing clicking sounds at irregular intervals. I'm not sure where the sound is coming from because I get it whether the sound volume is loud, soft or off altogether. Other people have commented on these sounds on Macfixit and CubeOwners. I wish I had known about this before I installed the update; I would have waited. I hope Apple issues a quick fix. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

It was running ok before the update though. I tried the old standbys of repairing the disk permissions and resetting Safari, but neither has helped. Guess I'll try reverting to Safari 2.
How much free space do you have? You should probably upgrade or get an external drive if you're in the low single digits. |

That stinks! Does it happen more often in a specific application? I've heard small popping/clicking sounds in iTunes and Front Row from day one with my Intel Mac mini. It basically makes this noise as you begin playing a song or when you change tracks. Have you tried re-applying the combo? |

No problems with the update here. I guess they needed to sneak this one in before releasing the iPhone. You know, in a world without the iPhone, we'd probably be looking at 10.5.1 today. That bums me out in a way. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I would bet there will be a 10.4.11 before Leopard. Any takers? |

I noticed it in non-sound apps like Entourage and Safari. I don't notice anything special in iTunes. The noise is not loud. I'm wondering if it's a drive noise? But it isn't a seek noise; more like a soft "pop". Each "pop" has the same pitch and volume. The rate of recurrence is what's irregular; I'm guessing every 10 seconds to a minute. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

I guess the noise could be related to a problem with your hard drive. It would be strange to have it start immediately after an update though. I hope you can track it down. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
