Hi
I´m thinking about buying Apple Tv.
The problem I have is that I´m not sure my router will do ok with it.
I have a Mac mini and a Samsung laptop connected wifi with a router (11g), and even though the mini is 11g and is closer to the router with nothing in between, the laptop (11b) gets much better internet speeds than the mini.
Tests show ok in the mini, same values as with the Samsung, but then navigating and sending/receiving things, I can tell everything goes faster with the laptop.
Since my plan is to move the mini to a different room where the tv is and place Apple TV where the mini once was (by the tv), would it be recommended to also buy the Airport Extreme?
would it assure me a perfect performance?
Thank you very much |

| I'm using my Mac mini and Apple TV with a G router and they both do just fine. How is your signal strength on the Mac mini? How far will it be moved? |

Signal shows at max, just like the tests, but then it doesn´t work that well.
Same thing happened with the built-in bluetooth... I was using the cordless mac keyboard and mouse (bluetooth) from 6 feet away and they didn´t work properly, so I had to buy a usb bluetooth device, and now they work ok
So I guess my mini didn´t come with good wireless capabilities
Now I´m going to move the mini to another room, a wall will be in between, that´s why I was thinking to boost the signal with the airport extreme |
