I'm not going to wait for someone to make one of these to sit under or on top of the mini:
EDIT: DO NOT BUY THIS, IT BLEW UP!
Specs:
4 x Hi-Speed USB - 4 pin USB Type A
1 USB Type B Uplink
6 x IEEE 1394 (FireWire) - 6 pin FireWire
Power Supply
Appears to be smaller in size than some of the others with fewer ports.
$53.42 w/ Free Shipping
It seems to have a good number of USB and Firewire ports. Most of the combo hubs had only 3 Firewire ports (since one is for uplink, you really only get 1 extra port out of these).
Seems to be a decent price, however provantage.com had it for a few dollars cheaper.

It is really nice that's combo, but if you consider that a separate set cost one probably way less?
For instance, last time I was visiting the USA, I bought an D-Link powered USB 2.0 hub at CompUSA. Wasn't even 10 or 12 bucks I think and I got an rebate (Through an uncle of mine) too, so I think total price was something like 6 or 8 bucks... works fine here under Windows and various Linuxes and would be fine on OSX too. What would a Firewire hub cost, you think? Yes, yours looks way better, but I put that stuff under the desk, together with the power brick and such... _________________ take care,

A separate set does not cost less. Have you looked at prices for a Firewire hub? Plus only 1 wall wart instead of 2. It's definately worth it. |

Well, they sell it in Europe too, but as expected against a way higher price: 50 Euro's!

Rats! And they don't send these items to Europe of course not to endanger the European profits! By the way, it would cost in $$'s: 65,36! I've got to find an cheaper European kind.... _________________ take care,

3 firewire jacks is not enough. One is an uplink, one you plug a device in. So in reality, you only get one extra port. Woopie. |

USB - Keyboard/Mouse, Card Reader, Printer, perhaps audio input in the future, also thinking about this - to control iTunes over Airport Express...
Firewire - 3 External Drives, iSight |

I wouldn't mind having one of those Keyspan iTunes remotes myself. I've heard they are pretty nice. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

My friend ordered the one I spoke about at the top of the page, and apparently when he added an externally powered device to it, it blew up!
Just warning folks that it may look better than it really is.
I haven't got mine yet.
At least the tech support is going to send him a different model. |
