What OS X Could Learn From Windows

First off, read this article before you say anything: Apple Matters

I love his idea of moving the command key and option key so that their functionality and location matches that of their Windows counterparts. Even though diehard Mac users will know the old way, I think that drawing Windows users over would be easier if they could use their muscle memory on OS X. If they don't decide to default this there should be an option on installation to use the Windows keyboard setup or something like that. I think you can do the same thing in SysPrefs, but it should be an easy one click thing that could be set the first time you run OS X and later changed in SysPrefs. Considering how we live in a Windows world, this would make it easier for people who own Macs at home but work on a Windows box to switch between them (that includes me).

I also think that folders should be sorted first whenever you sort a directory so that folders would be grouped at the top or the bottom of the screen subsorted by whatever sorting method is selected. It really is a handy feature that should at least be an option. I think on Windows this is an option.

When I rename a file and it automatically 'jumps' into the right place in the list, so I lose it.
On Windows, I rename a file and its stays exactly where it is until you refresh or close and open the window again.

Yes, I know that in a way its good HCI for it to move straight away, but its annoying!

Also, I like the minimise all function (either on the quick launch or the shortcut) in windows. Yes I can use F11, but it doesn't minimise them for good. There's probably a 3rd party app that does this? I would LOVE a minimise-all button up by the clock!!

(Note these are just things that I like, and I'd like to see! As a switcher, they are the things I miss most, because thats the way I got used to working, and old habits die hard! Long time OS X users will probably feel differently!
