I play piano, guitar, bass, lute and Irish whistle (no kidding). I sing too. Jack-of-all-trades, Master of none. _________________ If A is success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut. |

You can go blind doing that.
I've been playing guitar for over twenty years. I don't get to play as much with work and all, but I still bang it around every once in a while. Here is a little pic of my setup in the computer room. I have a Fender American Tele and Hot Rod Deluxe. I also have a Martin D-15 upstairs.
Notice the weights. I should be as big as Arnold Schwarzenegger in another few weeks.
Just kidding. I'm trying to get in shape after a recent fall. |

I have absolutely zero musical talent. My sister, on the other hand, is graduating with a BA in Music. She has no visual artistic sills though. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

It sounds like you are both creative then. What does she play? |

She just did her senior recital with her flute, as that's her main instrument, but she also regularly plays flute & piccolo in the orchestra, and keeps her piano skills sharp when she can. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

How do you like the BA-210? I just ordered one for my brother who plays a Fender Jazz bass. He has been borrowing another guy's 100W Peavey and practicing at home with a Peavey keyboard amp.

I'm in the same boat. I tried taking guitar lessons when I was a teenager, but it didn't work out. I have so much respect for people that can play. It's a real talent. |

I play guitar and drums, I've a Strat and a (reissue) Danelectro U-56,(wish I still had my old Silvertone Danny which came from Neptune,) a VS15 Marshall, plus the smallest Marshall stack made (battery op'd,) and a Roland Boss. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

Nice! The Hot Rod Deluxe is a sweet sounding amp. Nothing beats the warmth of a tube.

I haven't had mine for that long, but I really like it. I'm sure your brother will too. I tested out a ton of combos over a six-month period and the BA-210 won out. I stepped up from a Fender Rumble 100. By the way, I actually have the SP model with effects. You pay a slight premium over Fender and Behringer, but it's worth it. The sound, tone and cabinet are excellent. The built-in tuner and casters are nice additions too. It's fairly heavy to move around. I don't think the BA-210 has enough punch for a big venue, but it's plenty fine for and medium size auditorium, coffee house or church.

Is it the Marshall MS-2 mini? I've always wanted to start a collection of those mini amps from Marshall and Fender. I actually switched over from the guitar about two years ago. |

Actually, it's the MS-4, the full stack. The MS-2 is the half stack, so I guess that would be the smallest. The MS-4 is cool and loud for a little battery op'd thingee. At about 1 % of the wattage of a full size 100 watt Marshall head, it's a great thing to have on the desk. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

I suppose it depends on the kind of music you like. The 'metallic' sound of electronic amps can be appealing to some people out there. I like tubes though.
I got an old 1950 Gretsch that gets butchered from time to time when I try to play jazz. My guitar gently weeps, but probably not for the good reasons ... I got a Stratocaster too. A recent one.
Tin whistle I have a Waltons key D. As I'm not a native speaker, I did not get the reference of Tony ... and I thought this was a family forum
Lute I play on a classic guitar keyed differently, I lose the bass strings so it's not technically a true lute. _________________ If A is success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut. |

I play guitar. I have a Fender Deluxe Player's Strat (honey blonde), Epiphone Casino (vintage sunburst), Ovation Celebrity (black) and Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410. I also have a bunch of Boss pedals and stuff. _________________ 1.66GHz, 1.83GHz and 2.0GHz Mac minis
