|
|
I am planning a trip from Michigan to Florida and have gone to four different Map websites looking for the best, most accurate directions. The 4 sites are Mapquest, Google Maps, Yahoo maps and Mapsonus.com. All of the sites give different directions with distances differing by as much as 60 miles and time difference of 1 hour and 40 minutes! So what site do you feel from experience has the most accurate information? Thanks! _________________ 13' Macbook 2.0ghz C2D w/2gb RAM and 120gb HD

I haven't used them all. I've used Mapquest since the beginning and I still use it. I generally just use it as a guideline.
I drove from Edmonton to Tijuana on my motorcycle with a fold-up one page map in my pocket. I planned not to plan. One night I ended up sleeping in a public bathroom
Have a great trip!!! |

I haven't planned any long trips with it, but I've found that the new Yahoo Maps is by far better than Google Maps for trips that have multiple stops. Google just doesn't seem to make it easy to swap waypoints, etc.
What I really want also is to be able to say "Santa Barbara, CA to San Diego, CA using Highway 1 though malibu when possible" or something like that, and have it intelligently understand what I want. For now, I have to make a stop near the place I want it to go through, which is a bit of a kludge. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

I like MapQuest the best for just about everything. Yahoo would be a close second. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

| I don't need to know maps yet, but my parents use MapQuest. They have been using that forever. |

Men don't need maps! (insert Tim Allen grunting sound here)
I would have to vote for MapQuest as the best. |

I would rate the biggies in this order.
1. MapQuest
2. Yahoo
3. Google
I honestly can't seak for Mapsonus. Don't think I've ever visted the site before. |

AAA.com now offers free maps and trip ticks on the website. I just checked it out, seems good. Since I will never ask for directions, I just use my Tom Tom. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram
