I have the Micronet miniMate 160. The USB and Firewire ports will work even if the power is not turned on for the drive. I'm not sure if the M9 will do this. It's kind of a nice feature to have. Thank god it does becasue the drive is so loud. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Good to hear from an actual owner. I'd love to somehow compare the volume of the drive in the minimate with the volume of the fan in the ministack...

Got earplugs?
Do the ports work with the unit turned off? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini
