I have three. The first was purchased for my 5G iPod and dock. The second remote was purchased to replace the first after I lost it. I ending up finding the first one in the crease of our couch. Laughing The third came with my 1.66GHz Mac mini. I plan on reordering an Apple TV soon, so that will bring my total to four

You would have to find the code to teach the new remote. Once someone has that it shouldnt be a problem.
