| This might sound like a stupid question, but can you stream the content that's on your Apple TV to other computers? I know you can stream from a computer to the Apple TV. I think the answer is no, but want to make sure. |

Everything I've read indicates that Apple TV is a receiver. After all, it has no content except what's on its 40 GB drive, and THAT all came from some Mac or PC, right? There's no way to get music or anything onto it except from a remote iTunes.

| I thought so. But I think it would handy if it doubled as a little media server. I know the 40GB hard drive isn't that much, but it would be enough space to share my iTunes library across three computers. This would help me save hard drive space on my Mac mini and two laptops. |

I purchased Apple Extreme Base Station with N standard and an Apple TV to take advantage of the fast N standard. I have an Intel 2 duo iMac with built-in N wireless and a mini Mac without the N capability. Everything works well when streaming video from both computers, except when my microwave oven in the kitchen is running.
I asked Apple specialists at an Apple Store about the Extreme Base Station about the interference caused by my microwave oven and they offer no explanation. I thought Extreme Base Station can operate at 5GHz frequency, as well as 2.5GHz, or something like that. Apparently, the microwave can stop streaming and video playback has to start all over again.
This problem also exist when using my old G wireless Belkin router. |

Have you tried enabling interference robustness? |

B and G use 2.4 GHz, which is prone to microwave interference, as are some cordless phones and wireless speakers. From some of the stuff posted on the admin utility for the new AirPort Base Station, or perhaps in a review, I believe you can force 5 GHz, but since I don't have one I can't be more precise or verify the posting. I'd take a detailed look at the various settings - or maybe the manual.

| I expected that my iMac would operate at 5GHz when talking with the Extreme Base Station (EBS) and when my Mini Mac is in sleep mode. Unfortunately, I can't tell how things work, and I was expecting better interference rejection with EBS. |
