After a bunch of time going through all the processes, decided to do the one time mac repair for $50 and took it to a tech who I hope will fix it.

Well, actually $50 is not bad for a service call. Hope they can restore your mini to good health. Please let us know what happens.

Problem solved. Tech called and had to replace the logic board. The thing is a bunch of people in my area had the same kinds of problems. Moral...unplug during lightning storms. Surge protectors are not infallible.

So Apple replaced it for you? Did they charge you or did they cover it?

Onetime fee? So if anything fries your Mini again you don't need to pay again?
