I'm not sure if any of you have seen this before (don't know how long it's been out) but this is a really nice looking keyboard/mouse combo for the mini, maybe i'll buy it instead of the apple combo.

It certainly cheap enough to try out. If nobody owns one and makes a comment. Take a look through the photo gallery on this site and see if you can spot this set-up. Post a message there. This thread might get lost in the shuffle.
I personally think the Apple keyboard is good quality for the price. If you want something higher quality but in the Mac keyboard design take a look at the Matias tactile pro.
Be careful of your white/alumiunum balance. Don't go overboard on the aluminum. |

That's a really nice set, but the future of keyboard is here. That keyboard is designed by some Russian company and uses OLED (basically LCD) displays on each of the keys so that the labels can be changed.
It can change easily between Dvorak or QWERTY or Russian keysets. It can even do custom keysets like some of those keyboards already out there. Of course, it's just a prototype, but it's still awesome!
I won't be buying a new keyboard until something like that comes out.

yeah ive seen that b4, id buy it when it comes out, but i bet itll be around 200$+ ill stick with 39.99 for now =)

| That OLED keyboard looks good. I like they concept. I'd settle for standard quality qwerty layout with OLED programable function/extra keys to reduce the cost. |

You mean so that only the function keys are OLED and the rest are regular plastic? I think that'd turn out to be crazy-ugly.

Well, then it'd be the same price as the Bluetooth Logitech DiNovo KBM set I want. I'd gladly save up for it, I want to switch to Dvorak, but it's hard with a normal QWERTY keyboard.

I don't. Those are just key caps.
I'd be happy if just the row on the left were OLED.
You could greatly reduce the cost of the keyboard. Make three models a QWERTY, a Dvorak for you geeks, and a fully programable model like the one in the photo. |

Whoa, what? You want just the function keys on the left OLED programmable and the rest of the keyboard regular, plastic, non-programmable, right? I thought that's what I said. A Dvorak model would never stay on the market.

But it is a prototype...A prototype is not necessarily a physical representation of a possible new product. It can also be artists' sketches/renderings.
Either way, they better bring this thing to market. Hopefully these keyboards will become standard and support will be built into the OSby the time they are.

note that the keyboard in the combo set (of the original post) is the Slimtype Keyboard for mac, and has 2 left control keys, 15 F keys, yet no scroll lock key (even though theres an indicator light). No scroll lock means some KVM's wont work (namely the one i just bought, the IOGear Mini KVM)
