Hi
I'm in the market for a lovely Mac Mini, and with my educational discount, I can get a corker for under £500.
BUT Mac Buyers' Guide recommends waiting before buying as they think an update is pending.
The only predicted update I can find is for better integrated graphics.
So I have two questions: (1) when is the update coming (it's overdue if the average is to be believed) and (2) what will the updates comprise?
Thanks! |

I think a black color would be awesome, but i'm not so sure that's going to happen.
About the built-in iSight, i'm sure that's not going to happen. Apple will make another new model of the iSight that you can buy seperately to go with your Mac mini. My best guess is the Leopard option, as we actually know it's going to ship soon according to Apple. |

| Thanks guys! I was kidding about the iSight (where would they put it?!) but you've really got me excited (in a pleasant way) about the other possibilities, Core 2 Duo, 802.11n, 1GB RAM etc. |

| Most of Devo's best bets sound correct to me, though those starting hard drive sizes for the lower and higher end models seem a little high. |

same silver color |
I like the silver and white coloring. I think it would be a major mistake for Apple to dump the current color scheme in favor of an all black or white Mac mini. I also think it would be a mistake for them to change the materials. Meaning from the anodized aluminum to an all-plastic body. JMTC _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Also, if Apple decides to change the Mac mini color, what will LaCie and other Mac mini upgrading companys do? |

| Apple may add additional colors, but I think it would be wise to keep the aluminum and white look going for a while. Most people recognize the white color as an association with Apple due to the iPod success. Now of course whe know that the iPods have come out and various colors and so have Macs of the past. I say keep the white and add the new Shuffle colors (plus black) to the mini line-up. |
