I have just over 2TB of total external storage capacity. Approximately 1.5TB of that is filled with movies, music and family photos. No doubt, movies are the biggest hog. My actual music collection is only like 100GB. My photos and other docs are around 80GB.

| I don't have any yet. I will get one eventually to store all my handbrake movies. I am unable to store them on my internal since they take up so much space! |

1800GB via Firewire and 250GB on my NAS. Wow, I've finally surpassed 2TB.
Actual usable/free space is a bit different, since a few of my drives mirror each other, and I'm not more than about 75% full. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

Congrats! The race is on to 3TB
Actually, I'm good to go for a while now. I only have one of my drives mirrored, but all of the music and photos have been backed up to DVD. I probably could be closer to 3TB, but I like to buy drives in the 250GB-320GB range.
BTW: What type of NAS drive/solution are you using? |

It's an Iomega StorCenter. It's got gigabit, runs a version of Linux, and it is hackable. Honestly, the only reason I bought it was because it was on sale and had a rebate, otherwise I probably would have gone with a Linksys NSLU2 and one of my USB enclosures. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

I have a triple interface 320GB LaCie d2. I just pulled the 80GB stock drive out of my Mac mini and replaced it with a 160GB WD. I'm going to buy an enclosure for the old 80GB with my next paycheck. Anyone know of a nice metal 2.5" SATA enclosure? |

Running out of room on my internal 60GB, but have a 160 external Firewire that is full. Am trying to get a 400GB Ministack at the current moment. _________________ The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.

Wow!
I never stopped to add it up. Clearly I have a problem...
(2) 500 GB
(3) 320 GB
(2) 300 GB
(6) 60 GB <- hey, I keep my original Apple drives, they're all in external cases
(2) 120 GB <- WD drives that did not play nice in our MacBook's at all
(3) 80 GB
(1) 100 GB
3520 GB, less formatting loss, around 3200 GB.

This thread prompted me to calculate every hard drive in my apartment.
2x 250GB, 300GB, 180GB in my big FW enclosure
250GB in EZQuest FW enclosure
320GB in Hammer FW/USB2 enclosure
80GB in MacBook Pro
200GB in Living Room TiVo
120GB in Playstation 2
2x 10GB in external 2.5" FW enclosures
60GB in Mac Mini
200GB in Bedroom TiVo
2x 30GB iPod 5G
40GB in iBook G3
Total: 2330GB in common use
Unused storage:
120GB unused drive
80GB original drive from TiVo
40GB original drive from other TiVo
Total: 240GB sitting around doing nothing
Wow, that's 2570GB total in my one bedroom apartment, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something on this list... _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external
