Can anyone recomend a good USB powered speaker(s) I can use with my Mac Mini? I'm trying to conserve space and power on my plugs. I have the CREATURE but the damm woofer takes up too much space.
Thanks |

You won't be getting the same quality at all if you use USB powered speakers. Is it just the subwoofer that's too big for you? You can buy a set of 2.0 speakers so you only have a left and right channel, no sub. I wouldn't recommend any USB speakers, if they even make them.
Take a look at these. They're Creative I-Trigue 2200 speakers. They don't have a big subwoofer and Creative makes some good stuff. _________________ Computer Engineer

The Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0 would be a good choice if you want to dump the subwoofer all together.

| I'll second the Klipsch Promedia I'm using it with my Mini and I love them. They are the most accurate Computer speakers I've ever heard. Great vocal midrange and a tight bass. Now I use a pair of Altec lansing USB's for my Laptop and they do sound nice and make for a good alternative on the Lappy, but I'd never use them on the mini. Klipsch is a steal for $99. |

I assume you're refering to the Ultra 2.0 models? |

That's the only non-subwoofer set Klipsch makes for computers. _________________ Computer Engineer

I bought the Creative mini speakers, which for me are just fine...the sound from iTunes is not too bad (if you don't want a sub-woofer or 5.1, etc). They come in different colours, but I got the white and together with the Mac Mini, silver LCD, Apple keyboard & Macally Icemini mouse, I am pretty happy!
Note they are not USB, but are small!

I am told Logitech speaker kits (with sub-woofer) are pretty good if you want more volume & base.
