I feel a small speed increase in Safari. Scrolling with a wheel mouse seems faster and smoother. |

| My XBench scores have gone from the 112-114 range to 122-123 after the update. Could it be the widgets new memory management? I'm not complaining! |

Outstanding! Having just come from Windows a month ago, I'm extremely impressed with what Apple's been doing. |

Would u mind rebenching and compare the scores between when Dashboard is running to when it isn't then?
What's the specs on your mini? Should be a 1.25Ghz if you're in the 1-teens. _________________ Computer Engineer

What exactly is Xbench and what does it do?

It gives you a benchmark score of your systems performance.
http://www.xbench.com/
Since it does standard tests, if you and I had the same hardware in our mini's, and were running the same software, if we ran xBench on our mini's, we should get very similiar benchmarks.
Someone who boots off of an external firewire HD will get a higher xBench score since that method is faster than using the internal HD. Same with someone who has 1GB of memory vs the 256.
It makes comparing performance more quantifiable vs. saying "it just feels faster". |

I feel that my mac mini is a bit slower than before! (1 GB ram, 1.42GHz)
Maybe its just my imagination.
Do you think i should format (erase and install) hard disk, and put 10.4.2 right after completing?
I am just curious.

Until Safari colorizes code when viewing source, has find as you type, and is built for extensions like Firefox...Well, I quoted the above for a reason, . _________________ Computer Engineer

Well, guys, I found some help from Apple for setting the default browser in Panther. I can't think it would be much different for Tiger. Apple Support _________________ Computer Engineer
