|
|
I came upstairs this morning and turned on the Mini and now neither USB port is working. I switched to the keyboard/mouse off of my old PowerMac...no luck. Powered down and back up a few times...no luck. Plugged in my Shuffle...no luck. All the other ports on the back our working fine. Hard to troubleshoot a problem without a keyboard & mouse.
I bought the little guy in Feb. without Apple Care and install a gig of memory in it that same weekend. It has been working fine until now. If I call Apple they will probadly tell me I voided my warrenty by putting memory in it myself.
Anyone know of something I should try? _________________ Is that a Mac Mini in your pocket or are you just happy to see me. |

Putting in your own memory won't void your warranty. I would call them as soon as possible. Have you run the hardware test?

Well, you could just not tell Apple that you installed new RAM, though I've heard that opening the case doesn't void the warranty unless you actually break something (I doubt you did by installing new RAM).
You could also reinstall your old RAM and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, return your stick of RAM and buy a new one. _________________ Computer Engineer
