iPod shuffle now available in five colors
Tuesday, January 30, 2007
Posted by: Brian
Apple today announced that the iPod shuffle is now available in five brilliant colors: blue, pink, green, orange and the original silver. A hit with customers since its initial shipment three months ago, iPod shuffle is just half a cubic inch in volume, weighs just half an ounce and features an aluminum design with a built-in clip, making it the most wearable iPod ever. Based on Apple's pioneering shuffle feature, which lets music fans enjoy a continuous mix of their favorite songs anywhere they go, iPod shuffle contains one gigabyte of flash memory, holds up to 240 songs and is available in all five colors for $79.

I guess we should've known they were coming, with the choice of colors on the iPod mini and iPod nano 2nd gen.
Then again, this took me by surprise. |

I like orange - it matches the old school colors.

I have no need for a one though. An orange nano might be another story. |

Forget the black, I would pay extra for a RED one. |

I'm not really into the color thing or even the shuffle, but I would consider buying a red one for working out and stuff. That is, as long as the money went to Product Red. |

Yea, I was hoping for black too.
Maybe they'll put it on a 2GB one with a tax. |

| would you really buy a 2gig shuffle? At that point I would think you would want a display for searching. |

Forget the black, I would pay extra for a RED one. | I understand and respect the merit behind the red stuff. But a black unit would have a little more elegance than say... an orange unit. I'd say forget the orange and make a red or black. _________________

Yeah, I'm waiting on the widescreen 3G shuffle with a touchscreen!
I agree about 2GB being too much. Hell, I think 1GB is pushing it without a screen. It's not bad if all you do is shuffle songs, but jumping to specific tracks isn't practical once you get over a certain amount of songs. I just keep one or two playlists on my 1G shuffle for taking walks, working out, and junk. I have a feeling most people are using their shuffle in this matter. |

What do you, mean one or two playlists? You can't switch between playlists with the 2nd gen. iPod shuffle, can you? |

This is cool what Apple did with the Shuffle, but I think it takes some spark out of the new nano. I thought the second generation Nano was really cool when it first came out, it brought back the looks of the iPod mini. I still like the new colors of the Shuffle, but I would prefer black or silver.
This makes me sound boring... |

What do you, mean one or two playlists? You can't switch between playlists with the 2nd gen. iPod shuffle, can you? | You can't. There is absolutely no way to do select playlists in the shuffle itself. Though you can sync up multiple playlists, but it will play as one playlist combined in shuffle mode. Though I would guess the first playlist would play through and then start another, when not using the shuffle mode. _________________
