Then I'll just stop arguing. I'd say if someone wanted this for a non-college-campus-type-environment that this cable would be pretty good though. I don't see the need of that huge bracket for home use or even a college dorm, but then again, my college campus had an "open-door" policy pretty much: everyone left their doors open unless they were sleeping or out of town. _________________ Computer Engineer

If they are priced right, I can see them selling a lot of these. Not to me though. _________________ -=iMav=-

All users of the Kensington cable lock model 64038 to secure their notebook computers are at risk of theft. Although Kensington advertises that they are liable for up to a value of $1500 if your computer is stolen, the terms of this agreement DO NOT cover theft by means other than by force. If you are utilizing this lock, your computer can be easily stolen and will not be subject to the anti-theft warranty. The author does not recommend the use of this device, as it is not secure against a simple method of covert entry which can be accomplished within thirty seconds, does not damage the lock, and requires no expertise.
just an example of how these types of locks are crappy compared to a big ugly bracket. |

Well, I definitely feel that the "big ugly bracket" is much more secure. And if I was worried about theft, I may just purchase one (and I'd DEFINITELY recommend them for a computer lab)...however, I like to be able to reorganize my desk on a regular basis...so having the mini secured like that would be a BIG PAIN! _________________ -=iMav=-

There's got to be a better lock that uses that security slot that can't be picked with that 30 second method. That's crap that they can be picked so easily and aren't covered if they are. _________________ Computer Engineer
