What can that USB port be used for when someone really dives into the product after it is out? It said in Tech Specs for service and diagnostics, but possibly an external HDD if someone hacks it or if Apple adds the feature later. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

That's what people are hoping for. I was disappointed when I saw the USB port was only for service and diagnostics. But this tells me one thing. The Apple TV might be really tricky to open and work on. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

But I'm sure there will be a determined soul who wants to get in and slap a 200GB 2.5" drive in it. _________________

If the Apple TV would've been capable of doing 1080p, they could've used that USB port for an external Blu-ray or HD-DVD player in a matching enclosure. That would've been super cool! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I had heard that you would be able to connect the iPod with video directly to it and sync content from the iPod with the AppleTV! _________________ 13' Macbook 2.0ghz C2D w/2gb RAM and 120gb HD

It's a shame they limited the Apple TV to 720p or they could have made something like the Xbox 360 HD DVD player. Although, I'm not sure if they would even if it did 1080. I think Apple is in the business of selling downloads not disks.

I haven't heard that one. Is that the latest news? |

That port is so I can power the backlight for the mount. Thanks Apple! _________________ -Jh |
