| Does Anyone have any benchmarks for the mini? I was wondering how it compares to the eMac, iBook. |

| Wow they look pretty good. The Open GL test is a suprise at 122, heck the Powerbook is at 117. I would have like to seen those numbers if the mini had 64mb video and a 5400rpm hard drive. |

Great link. No offence to the link above "barefeets" but I really trust Macworld. I Feel bad for all those people that got eMacs for x-mas. That thing is HUGE! |

| The numbers are ok when you compare it to the emac not so with the imac. Mine should be here tomorrow. Just got my tracking number! |

| The Mac mini needs a better video card. 32MB is sorry, I'm not even sure it will handle core image in Tiger. I's wating untill Tiger comes out |

That is a great write up! I am still wondering in 256MB of memory would be ok for the casual user (like my parents). _________________ "...if you get confused listen to the music play..."

If it was just to do email and surf the internet, maybe your parents could get by. For 90% of the users out there 512mb is the minimum I would recommend they have of OSX. |

MacWorld benchmarks basically say the Mini is faster than the eMac. I have the 1.42ghz and they only tested the 1.25. I cannot wait to see the 1.42's benchmarks  |

Mac Mini/1.25GHz Combo: with 512 MBytes of RAM (512K L2 cache), optional 80GB Toshiba hard drive; Mac OS X 10.3.7. Also tested with Seagate 160GB external hard drive, both via FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 connections.
Mac Mini/1.25GHz/Fast 60GB: same system as above, replacing Apple/Toshiba hard drive with a 60GB Hitachi Travelstar 7K60, which runs at 7200 RPM with an 8-MByte cache.
Mac Mini/1.42GHz SuperDrive [tested by Rob White]: 512 MBytes of RAM (512K L2 cache), 80GB Toshiba hard drive; Mac OS X 10.3.7, AirPort and Bluetooth.
iBook G3/900MHz Combo: 12" iBook G3, 640 MBytes of RAM (512K L2 cache), standard 40GB Hitachi hard drive; Mac OS X 10.3.5; tested at "Auto" and "Highest" processor settings
iBook G4/1.2GHz Combo: 12" iBook G4, 768 MBytes of RAM (512K L2 cache), optional 80GB Toshiba hard drive; Mac OS X 10.3.5; tested at "Auto" and "Highest" processor settings
eMac G4/1.2GHz SuperDrive: 512 MBytes of RAM (512K L2 cache), optional 160GB Seagate hard drive (ST3160023A), Mac OS X 10.3.5
iMac G5 20"/1.8GHz SuperDrive: 1GB (2x512) of RAM (512K L2 cache), standard 160GB ST3160023AS hard drive; tested at Auto and Highest processor settings
Power Mac G5/1.8GHz: original single processor G5 model; 512 MBytes of RAM (512K L2 cache), dual ST3160023AS hard drives configured in a striped RAID, using Disk Utility. |
