Any good DVD Burner recommendation for my mini? I've already got a minimate 160GB external drive, so would probably hook it to that...
Just looking for some input and recs from people that have ones that they're using that work good with the mini...
Thanks. |

I really like LaCie and Sony drives. I have the LaCie d2. It may not be the prettiest looking thing, but it does a good job. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

That would look good sitting next to the mini! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Sweet! Those two make a good match. How do you like the Maxtor one-touch? What software does it use to do the backups? |

| I think the Sony DRX-710L-T looks much nicer than the Plextor. It's MacAddicts #1 choice in this months issue. It comes with Mac software. |

The new Sony drives look good. The only thing that worries me about them is having the drive vertical. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Why not buy a replacement internal DVD-burner. It looks prettier than all the other ones hidden inside of your system. Here's
a link to what I'm talking about. You can get it as cheap as $100, but I'll post that link if you're interested, and by the suggestions in this forum, I don't know if you are. |

I have owned both Sony and Plextor. (I just sold the Plextor, because it was not Dual Layer). At any rate, I run them both vertical and it does not seem to cause any issues. However, either of my drives can also be used horizontal. It’s just a matter of removing the plastic clip-on stand. _________________ Mac Pro Quad 2.66GHz, PowerMac G5 2.3 GHz, iMac Core Duo 17", MacBook Pro 2GHz, MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, Mac mini Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz.
