| I am kinda new to Mac. I want to know how to boot from a CD. I have a PPC version of Linux I want to check out on the Mac. |

I'm new as well but I think you insert the cd before shutdown and then hit "C" to boot from optical media when you start up again.... if you don't want to , boot up holding option to give you a menu of media to choose to boot from, or boot up having the mouse in the clicked down position to eject your optical media
