How would I know that! I have a small kid. If its not powerrangers or happining at chuckie cheese then i'm clueless.
I really thought that these things were dead. At least to the home user. Why not scratch digital? Pioneer makes a reall cool mp3 scratcher.
Record players...humm I guess I should have kept that Olivia Newton John record. |

Vinyl rules! A good turntable has a sound that's softer and livelier compared to digital.

So, Blazer, you don't scratch?
Scratching digitally doesn't provide the same tactil3 feel that using a real table does. Or at least that's what I've heard, I haven't actually gotten into scratching yet.

Isn't there another manufacture that's going to make an enclosure for the mini sans the drive for 69.95?

I only know of the three, this one, the MiniPartner, and the MiniMate.
The MiniPartner is comparably priced with an 80GB drive. The MiniMate is about $20 more.
I think there's a fourth USB-only one, but who cares about that? |

So the $80 MiniMate is $100? That's not a bad deal. I really do with the M9 was cheaper; $79.99 makes it a lot more appealing considering the lack of a drive.

It's not just for DJs, though that's probably the most mainstream use. Heck, I use to DJ w/ friends over 20 years ago w/ SL1200's and Numarks.
Nope, this is strictly for audiophile quality sound. Note the tube amp to the left of the center channel. No MP3 file can match the warmth of vinyl w/ a tube amp. Digital is clean, yes, but not necessarily the best sounding.

You're right. There's a USB 2.0 drive coming out from ADSTech. I don't see a product page on their site???? I wouldn't want a USB drive anyways.

I don't want to rain on everybody's parade, but $100 bucks ($107 with shipping) for a plastic enclosure is a rip off. I had my hopes up for this one!  |

I don't care what it's made of, I care how it works.
It's only $10.00 more than getting each of the individual bits from Fry's would cost. And that would still leave you with a plastic enclosure. That's not bad, for something that also powers up and down with the Mac and fits precisely underneath it and has an Oxford 911 chipset. And it seems to do a better job than the one with the aluminum enclose, based on a previous review on this site.
I mean, how do you feel about $1300 for a plastic enclosure? Oh, well, it also has an iMac G5 in it, but it's still plastic, right...? |

But the aesthetics work for me. Plus, w/ my new $80 250GB Seagate drive, that makes a great looking companion for $180. Less than any of the pre-built, mini-like options. |

I just really like that comparison to what xmen65 said, . I do think it's expensive, but it does include high quality parts (including the plastic) as well as a usb and firewire hub. Do they have the one that is USB only? I wouldn't want it, but it should be a good $10 cheaper, probably closer to $15, possibly $20, though I think that's a stretch.
