How does GarageBand 2 run on the mini? It runs pretty slow on my 1Ghz iBook. That live music notaion looks pretty cool. _________________ Mini Me! |

| It runs well! Not as good as on a G5 but good enough to play around with. |

| If you have 1/4 gig of RAM I would say don't even try it. With any application that deals with digital media it's going to LOVE RAM. I know for a fact that GarageBand loves RAM, especially when you load up the loops, so once you get a gig, I doubt it'll be a problem. An external hard drive would definitely make it playable because I doubt the Mac hits 100% CPU usage with it unless you have a ridiculous amount of tracks and effects going. |

I have a standard 1.42 mini. I use GB2 extensively (lol), and well... it's okay.
I have only 256MB of RAM, so sometimes, when I'm turning the monitor on with my guitar plugged in (with the "Arena Rock" effect, for example), there's a delay in output. It's annoying when jamming, but closing down every other open application will get rid of the problem.
I'll be upgrading the RAM to 512MB soon, so things should get better then _________________ Mac mini - 1.42GHz
