| Are the DVDs in good shape? I've heard of this happening before with DVDs that are all scratched up. What happens when you insert a pristine blank or new DVD? |

I had that problem with my MacBook Pro, and it turned out to be a bad Superdrive. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

is resetting pram really a solution? to make this more hard to understand, i retried install disk and it worked once and then when mac restarted it spit back out (i was trying an archive and install). my disks are all in good shape.
my other problem is that i deleted dashboard and now i want it back. i was told i need to reinstall from install disk (which doesn't work). is there any other way to get it? i have all the dashboard prefs etc on an external drive but it doesn't work. i have a macbook can i get it from that. thanks for any help. _________________ 24 inch core 2 duo, 2.33ghz, 2 gig ram

You probably need a reinstall to get dashboard back. I would contact Apple about the SuperDrive. _________________ www.TheRandomOne.co.uk - General random discussion
