No problems here either. Repaired disk permissions and checked for proper function of sleep.

Did you quit all open applications before starting the update? If so, you might try repairing the disk permissions as a next step.

I have no problems with my mini, I don't use boot camp, and I don't intend to install this (maybe just download and archive). Any objection to this option?

I don't see anything wrong with staying put, but I would probably just go ahead and apply it. I'm sure there will be other updates after Leopard and Vista come out, so archiving this one is probably useless.

Hey, it only took me two restarts. I forgot that you had to hold down the power button. Laughing

Everything appears to be working fine.

This is funny. Apple machines will probably be able to run Windows more reliably than a PC soon enough. It's nice to see Apple keeping up with the support.

Been there. Done that.

I'm having weird problems with my Mac starting a couple days ago anyway. It won't restart. It closes the dock and the menu bar and then hangs. I've checked for hanging processes but can't figure out what it is. It will shutdown just fine though. Evil or Very Mad

Alright, I fixed my bogus "won't restart" issue by manually downloading and re-installing the 10.4.8 update. Beauty! Very Happy

I still could not get the firmware update to install through Software update. Kept telling me it couldn't expand the file. Anyway, I downloaded it, ran it, and it worked fine. I now have the latest firmware. I sure hope next time I run software update that it will work for me though. Shocked

if your sleep functions are all working properly like mine were then i would recomend you leave this well alone as mine wont wake from sleep ever since upgrading. its annoying because its not a reliable problem. it will sleep and wake sometimes but then othertimes it wont wake and ill have to restart using the power button which is never really a good thing to do.
Is there a way to revert to the old firmware?

I think I completed hosed my Mini. I ran the installer, and the computer won't restart. I hear the drive clicking on over and over, but nothing happens. It's not starting up from a CD. Crying or Very sad
